Wholesome Residing for ME gives free workshops

Starting in mid-August, Healthy Living for ME plans to offer a free workshop to help people with a variety of chronic pain conditions.

Better Health Now with Pain is for people with a variety of chronic, non-cancer pain conditions such as arthritis, back pain, post-operative pain and headache, and other conditions that last more than three months despite treatment.

Relatives of long-term pain patients are also invited to take part in the workshop. Topics covered include stimulation and planning, medication management and the “Moving Easy” program.

Workshop participants will receive a free toolkit that will be sent by post and will work with a certified leader over the phone at set times, either alone or in small groups.

The “Better Health Now with Pain” telephone workshops take place once a week for six weeks and last one hour. The next workshop is planned for Monday, August 16 to September 27. The materials will be sent out in the week before the course starts.

This series is free to any adult Mainer dealing with chronic pain, but prior registration is required. For more information and registration, contact Healthy Living for ME at 800-620-6036 or [email protected]. Individuals can also register at Healthylivingforme.org.

In October, Healthy Living for Maine will also offer “Living well with chronic pain”. Anyone interested in this workshop is welcome to register now or call Healthy Living for Maine for more information. This workshop is free, takes place on Zoom, and is open to all adult Mainern suffering from chronic, non-cancer pain.

“Living well with chronic pain” lasts six weeks, with either Monday or Thursday workshops.
