Wholesome dwelling: The summer season camp at Dutchtown GymFit is in full swing

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Summer is in full swing and with most of the COVID-19 restrictions lifted, kids summer camps are back in business. This week Carly Laing takes us to a new camp in Dutchtown.

School is over and the kids want to enjoy a fun summer. And you’ll find this fun at GymFit Dutchtown.

“You can expect to do ninja warrior obstacle courses, parkour training, and even circus arts training,” said owner Joshua Roberts.

After a year of uncertainty, GymFit owner Joshua Roberts said the summer camp is literally jumping.

“We keep most of the kids pretty active. You will be moving around seven of the nine hours you will be here outside of lunch and snack times. So it’s a great, super active camp, ”said Roberts.

The Dutchtown Gymfit Camp is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Roberts said campers aren’t the only ones who leave happily at the end of the day.

“It’s one of the biggest compliments we get from parents. When they pick them up, they usually fall asleep on the way home. So they love that aspect of it. And you know, instead of sitting on laptops and tablets all day, we keep them moving and getting the energy out, ”said Roberts.

The summer camp is available at both the GymFit locations in Dutchtown and Baton Rouge. You can find more information about the summer camp HERE.
