When it comes to food, there’s nothing quite like the luck of enjoying a cream-filled cupcake or nibbling on that extra cheeseburger. But we all know how it ends – gas, increased cravings, and an unhealthy lifestyle. It is known that getting fit is not an overnight process. It requires lifestyle changes and diet changes.

However, this begs another question: what to do when we feel down and eating junk food seems comforting? Rashi Chowdhary, diabetes consultant, recently shared three of her favorite foods in an Instagram post that “not only support your gut, but also help your brain produce dopamine and serotonin, the neurotransmitters that are essential for your happiness, your mood, and your sleep , Your libido and much more are responsible! ”

Check it out below.

Sesame seeds

Chowdhary suggests this because it contains tyrosine. “Tyrosine increases dopamine levels in the brain, which can improve thinking and memory,” she adds. 100 g sesame seeds contain 0.79 g tyrosine.

coffee

Not only does it release dopamine, but it also blocks adenosine. “Adenosine is a neurotransmitter in your brain that makes you sleepy,” explains the diabetes advisor. Now it is clear why we always choose coffee in the morning! However, it advises not to consume more than 2 cups of coffee or 250 grams of coffee per day.

Bananas

Bananas are high in potassium, but they also contain another component known as tryptophan. “It’s an amino acid that the body converts to serotonin, which helps you relax,” she explains. A medium-sized banana contains around 11 mg of tryptophan, while the potassium, along with magnesium, will help reduce stress levels and allow you to sleep better.
