The Inexperienced City Lunch Field helps ship recent, wholesome meals to Utahns in want

Regence BlueCross BlueShield, based in Utah, works with nonprofit organizations to ensure access to nutritious food.

Regence’s director of provider contracting, Derek Pearson, said the company had raised employee donations to raise $ 218,000 to help fight food insecurity in Utah. This is a great help, because now more than 347.00 Utahns suffer from hunger on a regular basis.

According to Pearson, Regence is working with several nonprofits to help tackle food insecurity.

One of them is the Green Urban Lunch Box, which provides healthy, nutritious and culturally relevant food especially for older adults while preventing isolation.

They focus on sustainable agriculture in urban areas. In 2020, Green Urban Lunch Box grew and distributed nearly 65,000 pounds of products.
