Seniors can discover well being ideas within the Wholesome Dwelling Discussion board
The forum is aimed at people aged 50 and over.
Free health advice for seniors is offered as part of a healthy living forum.
Hilary Blackstock, Sport Taranaki Strength and Balance Coordinator, says the forum will be held in Hāwera at the end of the month.
A general practitioner, physiotherapist, pharmacist and nutritionist will be present at the forum.
“They talk to the participants about their job, their services and give tips on how seniors can take better care of themselves.”
Hilary says the first forum in New Plymouth was successful.
“We wanted to do the same in Hāwera for our seniors who live in the south of Taranaki.”
Hilary runs a number of fitness classes for seniors.
“The aim is to help participants improve their strength and balance. The forum is a way to bring students and other seniors together so that they can get important information free of charge.”
The event is aimed at people aged 50 and over.
“This is one of the ways we can train our seniors and make sure they have the right tools for healthy lifestyles.”
The forum is a way to get accurate health advice to seniors.
“It is important that people know what is being offered to them in terms of their health.”
The speakers are local in central and south Taranaki.
“It was very important to us that we bring people with us from the region who the participants might know.”
Hilary says another benefit of the forum is the social side.
“It brings everyone together and they can connect with others in the same age group.”
There will be hot drinks and cookies at the event. For more information about the forum or Hilary’s fitness classes, contact Hilary at 021480180.
