Live performance sequence entertains and improves entry to wholesome meals for youngsters on the similar time | information
On July 14th, the Carpinterians flocked to Canalino Elementary School for a free meal and concert, courtesy of No Kid Hungry, a nonprofit that offers free meals to all children under the age of 18 all summer. That year, No Kid Hungry served free lunch at dozens of locations across Santa Barbara County.
In addition to free meals, the organization also hosted a free series of concerts with young musicians and DJs performing at Canalino last week.
“Every child should have access to healthy, nutritious food so that they can reach their full potential. Programs like No Kid Hungry’s summer concert series ensure families can count on at least one healthy meal if school is canceled or a parent struggles to find work, ”MP Salud Carbajal said. “I am so grateful to No Kid Hungry for the work and our local food banks are doing to combat the food insecurity of children in our community. We need strong partnerships between governments and organizations to eradicate child hunger. I am honored to serve as an ally in this fight. “
Community members can send SUMMERFOOD to 877-877 to find a location near them for free meals.
