Pennsylvania’s Senior Farmers Market nutrition program is administered by the PA Department of Agriculture. The program offers a package of four $ 6 SFMNP checks for income eligible seniors, which will be used to purchase fresh, nutritious, unprepared, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs from approved farmers in Pennsylvania.

In addition to improving the health of seniors through the ability to purchase fresh produce, it also helps increase awareness and use of Clearfield County’s farmers’ markets.

The Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging receives a limited number of checks in its county for distribution. CCAAA has already distributed over half of their grant.

For more information or to register, call the dedicated CCAAA Farmers Market number at (814) 765-2691. Follow the instructions on the phone and your application will be emailed to you to fill out and return. Please just leave a message.

Applicants must be 60 years of age or older by 12/31/2021 and have an annual gross household income of less than $ 23,828 for one person or $ 32,227 for two people. Each qualified senior can only receive the SFMNP benefit of $ 24 once a year.

Once the applications have been returned and processed, you will receive your checks in the mail.

Applications cannot be picked up or dropped off at CCAAA offices or Centers for Active Living. Register today, the offer is limited.

Only government-authorized farmers can accept and cash SFMNP checks. A list of qualified Pennsylvania farmers’ markets and / or selling farmers to cash your checks is provided.
