John Sargent saddles Wholesome Magnificence at Wyong Magic Hundreds of thousands

John Sargent liked Healthy Beauty as much as a yearling that he got a share for himself, and he’s excited to see the filly prove those who failed her in Magic Millions Wyong 2YO Classic on Wednesday.

Healthy Beauty failed to reach its reserve at the 2020 Gold Coast March Yearling Sale, but Sargent was dying to have Maurice’s daughter in his stable and firmly believed that she had a future.

“She was passed over, but I liked her so much that I asked if I could buy a leg from her,” said Sargent.

“There is still a bit of maturity left, but she is a natural breed of horse.”

Healthy Beauty has shown Sargent enough since then to indicate that she is ready to compete for a $ 2 million spot in the Gold Coast 2YO Classic this summer.

The two best drivers of Wednesday’s Wyong race will secure a spot in the lucrative role in which Sargent already has Ballarat Clockwise Classic winner Readily Availabull on the way.

The Randwick trainer believes Healthy Beauty will be able to join her stable, but the filly will have made a difficult move in Barrier 17.

“We would of course have wished for a better draw, but if it rains a bit this might be the place,” said Sargent.

“She is fit and healthy. With Magic Millions eligible, it made sense to run them despite the draw.

“She performed well and was up and ready to leave early.

“Usually there are only seven or eight runners, so it’s a tough race.”

Healthy Beauty is a $ 11 chance at and is ridden by Tommy Berry.

Meanwhile, Sargent confirmed that Readily Availabull was successful at home as he pondered which route to take towards the Gold Coast.

“He’s good and we just have to see if we can give him a start before the millions or bring him to justice,” he said.

“It will be in Queensland or here when we take it wherever it belongs.

“I gave him 10 days after his victory. It doesn’t take a lot of work in itself. “
